president obama, my name is julia. i'm an 11-year-old who lives here in d.c. there are no words to explain how sad i am about the school shooting. even though i'm not scared for my safety, i'm scared for others. i have four brothers and sisters and i know i would not be able to bear the thought of losing any of them. i may not be that into politics, but my opinion is it should be very hard for people to buy guns. the only thing they do is harm or kill and guns should only be in the most horrible event, where others will get hurt if they are not. i know that laws have to be passed by congress, but i beg you to try very hard to make guns not allowed, not just for me, but the whole united states. my love and regrets, julia. >> that's a very thoughtful letter, julia. why did you decide to sit down and write it? >> well, i was overwhelmed with sadness about the school shooting and knew as one person i couldn't do anything, but i knew that president obama could. so i decided to write this letter hoping that at least he would read it and think of doing something. >> theo, you're the dad. did you

because we've seen already over the past four years what the obama administration's been doing with these air strikes. >> aerial drone strikes aside, does the cia need to pull out at the same time as the military? because doesn't the military help back up many of their operations? >> without a doubt. but the cia already maintains such a strong presence across the region it's unlikely that it's going to reduce that. there's some aspect of the cia's presence that's involved with helping the military, perhaps gathering intelligence precisely for operations that involve troops, but also that's going to shift perhaps to providing intelligence for these types of drones. a lot of that relies on human intelligence on the ground and assets on the ground. it's unlikely that is going to be reduced if the u.s. still feels it needs to have that presence as they've indicated they will. >> does the cia operate in its own kind of bubble? are they going to be able to as effectively bring this human intelligence with less people on the ground? >> well, from a technological point of view, phone i

're about passing power peacefully, not violently. in my last year as a member of congress, i would say perhaps half of the members of congress had to live wearing bullet proof vests and have armed guards. >> really? >> during the aftermath of obama care, when there were, the president was being held in effigy, and these comments were blocking members of congress from being able to go and vote. you may recall that. and people like john lewis were being called epithets, racial epithets. this wasn't isolated. this was happening in our nation's capital and around the country. whether it is guns or the issue of mental health or anything that is a hot button issue, where we can't talk to one another, and that i think is the more disruptive, disturbing thing. i mean, i felt threatened when he was threatening you. and the fact that we're not thinking about one another in those ways. he was assaulting your human dignity. >> i mean, personally, i never felt threatened by him. what i felt was it was one of those interviews where you just want to let him talk. because getting inside the mind of a
